CAMPERDOWN Swimming Pool Committee of Management members kept busy over the summer with a number of new additions at the pool.

Committee president Kylie Spokes said a lap swimming honour board at been installed at the pool entrance which would honour the annual lap swimming challenge winners each year.

“MrSign helped us out with that,” she said.

“We have enough space for 25 years.”

Wannon Water has also helped install a drinking fountain at the front gates of the pool which the community will be able to utilise.

“They (Wannon Water) paid to have it put in and the Corangamite Shire helped us out as well,” Mrs Spokes said.

“The idea sprung from the sports carnivals and children not having anywhere to fill their bottles.

“I just think it’s fantastic.”

Lap swimmers have been better able to time themselves thanks to the purchase of a portable pace clock.

Mrs Spokes encouraged community members to consider joining the committee which meets about two to three times each season.

“We’ve got about eight members but we’re always looking for more members of the community to join,” she said.

“It’s not a huge time commitment.

“The pool is a community hub.”
