Popular event ready to get engines revving
CAR lovers will be spoilt for choice when the popular Guzzlers Car Club Inc’s Prison Break Weekend returns this month.

Camp Cooriemungle will be abuzz with activities for the whole family to enjoy including live entertainment, activities for the kids, trophies and prizes, food vendors and a wide array of some of the rarest vehicles from across the region.
Guzzlers Car Club Inc president Claude Love said the eighth annual event was expected to be a blockbuster.
The concept for the event revolves around simply showing off your toys – if it has a motor, the club would love to see you bring it along for all to enjoy.
“We originally started with just cars but we’d love to see boats, bikes and race cars,” Mr Love said.
“Last year was our first one trying to embrace all vehicles, and we’re still trying to get the word out there, but it has been well received so far.
“It seems to be something people want to get in to.
“We’ve got the band Run Bella Run this year, hopefully if everything goes well we’ll have kids’ entertainment which includes a jumping castle, and food and drinks available.”
The Prison Break Weekend will see engines revving in to Camp Cooriemungle on Saturday, January 25 from 12noon onwards, with planning this year centred around creating a more intimate setting.
“We’re going to change it up a little this year with the event inside the arena, inside the prison camp,” Mr Love said.
“Instead of having different bands, traditionally three, this year we’ll just have one to lessen the downtime without music between bands, and they’ll play in to the night.
“We’re expecting a big turnout as we’ve traditionally had people coming from Geelong, Gippsland, Melbourne and, really, all over – Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Grampians way and even had people from Wonthaggi.”
Mr Love said there was plenty of accommodation options, including powered camping sites, available through Camp Cooriemungle.
“There’s an open invitation for anyone wanting to show off their toys, just turn up on the day,” he said.
“Everyone’s welcome - if you can land a helicopter safely, we say go for it.
“If you consider it a toy, bring it.”
Gates open at 12noon on Saturday, January 25 at Camp Cooriemungle with admission $5 per person or $15 per family.
