Positive signs for Tigers

DERRINALLUM scored a strong six wicket win over Rokewood last Saturday in round 15 of the Grenville Cricket Association senior competition.


The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first at the Derrinallum Recreation Reserve – dismissed in the 27th over for just 79.

New ball bowler Hunter Thompson took 3/20 from eight overs, with Max Uren taking 3/5 from 5.3 overs and skipper Ned Uren 2/16 from four.

The Tigers raced to victory in 23.1 overs for the loss of four wickets, opener Karan Brar unbeaten on 50.

Turf cricket awaits the Tigers tomorrow, with the fourth placed Derrinallum taking on second placed Carranballac at Tatyoon.

In the under 16s, Derrinallum was defeated by Lismore at Derrinallum.

Batting first, the Tigers made 4/84 from their 25 overs, Fletcher Greig making an unbeaten 38 from 66 balls.

Lismore replied with 7/109, Alexander Cronly leading the bowling with 3/5 from two overs, with Eddie Gellie, Neave Thompson and William Turner taking a wicket each.

Tomorrow’s final round game sees top of the ladder Derrinallum play Rokewood at Rokewood.

In the under 12s last Friday, Derrinallum had a big win over Linton at Linton.

The home team posted 60 from their 20 overs, with Campbell Henderson taking two wickets.

Derrinallum replied with 143, with Eddie Gellie making 16, Finn Gellie 12, Charles Turner 11 and William Turner 10.

Derrinallum have the bye in tonight’s round of under 12 matches.
