Probus hoping to welcome new members
ARE you interested in joining the Terang and District Probus Club?
The club is hoping to attract new members after recently celebrating 20 years since the club was first formed.
Terang and District Probus Club member Des McKinnon said the club provides an opportunity for its members to connect with others in the community, with arms wide open for all regardless of their race, gender, religion or political views.
“Probus offers a no-strings attached opportunity for engagement with community members,” he said.
“There is no fundraising and it is based on meeting for two hours on the first Monday of each month.
“Morning tea and an interesting guest speaker are provided each month.
“In addition, there are optional trips and activities held throughout the year.”
Mr McKinnon said this month’s trip would provide a behind-the-scenes look at the stables of one of harness racing’s most prominent local families.
“This month there will be a visit to the harness racing stable of Marg Lee, including a barbecue lunch,” he said.
“Anyone interested in membership can join by ringing Gerdy Verhoeven on 0429 351 466.
“We also have a birthday club, in which members celebrating their birthday each month have the opportunity to meet for a cuppa and a chat.”
