Progressing Cobden review continues
PROGRESSING Cobden (PC) members will continue to work on recommendations from the community review carried out in August.
It was decided at PC’s September meeting to distribute the organisation’s constitution for everyone to check its relevancy and general viability.
A PC spokesperson said members felt some aspects of the rules may need re-writing or just tweaking.
“Similarly, the question was asked if by-laws could be written to complement the constitution and accurately reflect current and any new best practices?” the spokesperson said.
“Those who attended the review in August and other interested people are encouraged to attend the PC meeting on October 7 to assist in finalising this audit.
“The purpose of the process is to make Progressing Cobden more user-friendly to district residents.
“We want to encourage others to take an interest in what we do and ensure it’s not too difficult to get involved.”
The PC spokesperson said it is essential to bring new members to the group to help bring new ideas and enthusiasm.
“We know that communication with PC’s potential market is always an issue – what can be done to make our communication with all residents – young and older – more effective?” the spokesperson said.
“If we can achieve better contact with all sections of our community, we will have a fighting chance of maintaining Progressing Cobden as a sustainable group for years to come.”
The Monday, October 7 meeting will be held in the Heytesbury Room at the Civic Hall from 7pm.
