Projectors set to roll for film festival

FILM buffs will be in seventh heaven with the Corangamite Film Festival returning again this year in a six-day event.

This year the festival will film screenings in Terang, Lismore, Camperdown, Cobden and Skipton.

Film groups from across Corangamite Shire combine their efforts to create a six-day event, allowing a diversity of film styles and subjects.

Corangamite Film Society president Chris Warren said film groups are challenged with choosing a film their local group wishes to see, but will also have a broader audience appeal.

“It provides a great opportunity for smaller film groups to promote awareness of their regular film events, and to also raise money through ticket sales at the festival,” he said.

“Each venue and community of volunteers have their own character and style.

“Combined with supper and a chance to socialise and talk about the film afterwards, it’s a great get-together.”

The festival began on Tuesday, with a film shown in Terang.

The remaining five films to be screened are:

To Kill a Mockingbird, (1962) Wednesday, July 31, 7pm at Lismore Health – Grimwade Room;

The Banshees of Inisherin’ (2022) Thursday, August 1, 7.30pm at Theatre Royal Camperdown;
