MUCH like Dolly Parton’s famed song ‘Coat of many colours’, there was a veritable explosion of colour and patterns at the Camperdown Clocktower Quilters Quilting and Stitching Exhibition.
Held over two days over the weekend, more than 100 people passed through the doors to look at quilts and sewing projects of all shapes and sizes.
Camperdown Clocktower Quilters group secretary and treasurer Carol Wilson said the weekend was a success.
“Many thanks to the local community that came along; it was great,” she said.
“There were more than 100 people over the two days which was amazing.
“We had great feedback.”
Mrs Wilson said the raffle had also proved popular.
“We made $2600 on our quilt raffle,” she said.
“It was an amazing effort, our best yet.
“That money goes in to getting the quilts quilted that we give away to community members in need.”
The group has given away more than 70 quilts made by group members in the last three and a half years.
Camperdown Clocktower Quilters meet in the McCabe room at the rear of the Camperdown Library on the last Wednesday of each month at 7pm.
New members are always welcomed.
