Quinn claims Allstar Challenge
ADELAIDE sprintcar driver Brendan Quinn claimed the biggest win of his career on Saturday night, taking out the Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers $15,000 AllStar Challenge at Simpson Speedway.

ADELAIDEsprintcar driver Brendan Quinn claimed the biggest win of his career on Saturday night, taking out the Mainline DynoLog Dynamometers $15,000 AllStar Challenge at Simpson Speedway.
The owner/driver of Quinn Motorsport posted a win and a third in qualifying, as the 42-car field winnowed down to 20 for the A-Main.
Quinn started in position three and maintained a top five position throughout the 35-lap feature, which put him in a favourable position to take advantage of other drivers’ misfortunes.
2021 top five finisher Daniel Pestka led early and was looking strong when former Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic winner Steven Lines of Mount Gambier rolled in lap five.
When last year’s AllStar Challenge winner James McFadden bounced out of the race shortly after the restart, Pestka pushed his advantage, building a big lead.
However, Pestka suffered mechanical problems and was forced to retire in lap 28.
Quinn took advantage and the lead, and kept his head to take out the title despite a stiff challenge from sprintcar favourite Grant Anderson who came in second.
Jordyn Charge was the third man on the podium, and V8 supercars driver Cameron Waters had his best night yet in a sprintcar, narrowly beating Warrnambool’s Matthew Reed to fourth place.
Bannockburn’s Stan Marco Jnr won the second edition of Snoopy’s Super Rod Slam.
Marco Jnr lead throughout the 20-lap event, not putting a foot wrong despite plenty of pressure from Colac’s Neville Gange (second place) and Lancefield’s Shaun Walsh (third).
The next race meeting at Heytesbury Stockfeeds Simpson Speedway will be the Southwest Stampede on January 29.
