Rain remains low across the region
DRY weather continued throughout the region in November despite a late storm surge bringing heavy rain.

Throughout November, Terang received 45mm of rain, well below the long-term monthly average of 60.6mm.
The wettest day of the year occurred on November 27 when 23mm of rain hit the ground – the fifth highest daily rainfall recorded in 2024.
The low monthly result for Terang remained higher than the result in November 2023, with just 33.2mm of rain hitting the ground over the same period last year.
With just one month remaining, 510mm of rain has fallen over Terang – below the 727mm long-term average over the same 11-month period.
November marked the eighth time the monthly rainfall result has fallen below the long-term average in 2024, and is the fourth consecutive month the total has failed to reach the average.
Meanwhile in Mortlake, the result was not dissimilar with 37.8mm of rain recovered throughout November.
The result fell short of the 48.8mm long-term monthly average, with a highest daily rainfall occurring on November 27 when 20.2mm hit the ground.
Despite the low rainfall, the result is an increase from the same period last year with 28.4mm of rain falling in November 2023.
Similar to Terang, Mortlake has also experienced four consecutive months with the rain tally falling below the long-term monthly average.
To date 406.4mm of rain has fallen over Mortlake, well below the 542.7mm long-term average result over the same 11-month period.
