Rainfall falls short

LOCALS watching the sky and hoping for rain were again left disappointed in October.

Just 58.4mm of rain fell over Cobden and surrounds for the month, well below the long-term rainfall of 79.1mm.

Almost half of the monthly rainfall was recorded on October 18, which saw 26.2mm of rain fall over 24 hours.

So far this year 476.3mm of rain has fallen over Cobden and surrounds.
