Rains are coming

THE region saw strong rainfall over June, passing both the previous year’s total and the long-term average for the first time this year.

Camperdown recorded a total of 120.3mm of rainfall over the month, which is over double the June 2024 tally of 45.3mm.

The figure is also above the long-term monthly average of 75.5mm.

June 25 saw Camperdown’s highest daily rainfall, with 19.8mm recorded over 24 hours.

Camperdown’s total rainfall tally for 2025 currently sits at 211.8mm.

Meanwhile. Lismore recorded 81.8mm of rainfall over June.

The total is above the long-term average of 54.1mm for the month, as well as the previous year’s total of 29.4mm.

Lismore’s highest daily rainfall was recorded on June 9, when 27.2mm hit the ground.

To date, Lismore’s rainfall tally for 2025 sits at 200.4mm.

Derrinallum also saw strong rainfall, recording 93.6mm across the month.

The figure is above June 2024’s total of 25.4mm, as well as the average of 57.1mm for the month.

The highest daily rainfall for Derrinallum was 238.6mm, which was recorded on June 9.

So far, Derrinallum has seen 187mm of rainfall for 2025.
