Rattle for a good cause
GIVING some spare change this Good Friday could help change lives.
Cobden Quota Friends of Rotary annual Good Friday Appeal fundraiser is in full swing, with co-ordinator Fran Warden calling for community members to volunteer to collect on Good Friday.
She said the community continues to support the appeal, with last year’s total for Cobden raising more than $13,000.
Mrs Warden is calling for young residents and their families to come forward and help collect donations on the day.
She said the collection point will again be at the Cobden Uniting Church between 9am and 5pm.
“The kids can collect tins there from 9am. If anyone wants a particular street or area they can ring me prior and we can put it aside,” Mrs Warden said.
“We need some volunteers, young and old or indifferent.
“We didn’t get to cover the whole town last year. We’re hoping people might want to volunteer this year.”
Mrs Warden reminded motorists to be aware of collectors on Good Friday.
She said the group is looking forward to the annual Cobden Good Friday Appeal.
“Every little bit counts,” Mrs Warden said.
“We will do the best can.
“Hopefully it all goes well.”
