CAMPERDOWN’S Gary Lawlor is looking forward to returning to headquarters this weekend.

The local harness trainer is bound for Melton with his pacer Reactor Factor set to compete in the Hylands End of Year Sale June 26-30 Pace over 2240 metres at 6pm tomorrow night (Saturday).

It will be the four year-old geldings fourth run since resuming from a spell with a nice victory at Terang on May .

However this time Reactor Factor will have plenty of work to do in the event after being left out of the mobile draw.

It is required to start from gate 10 on the second row after it broke gait shortly after the start at Stawell on June 10.

Lawlor’s son Darryl will once again be entrusted with driving duties.

But the trainer conceded it would be a tough event for his pacer from the awkward draw despite adding the standard of racing would suit the son of Auckland Reactor.

“I think he’s better racing against the better horses down there,” Lawlor said.

“In the country they aren’t going quick enough for him so this should be good for him.

“I think from the draw he’ll find it tough. He galloped at Stawell two starts ago and was put out of the draw, you have to have two starts before you can go back in so the gate will probably put him out the back.

“He’s going to make his own luck but hopefully he goes okay.”
