Organiser and performing artist Ian ‘Bidge’ Boyd said numbers were down this year, but the crowd was very generous in giving to the Good Friday Appeal.

“I think it was a bit down on last year because they couldn’t launch boats – quite a few of the cabins didn’t have people in them this year, so numbers were down a bit,” he said.

“All the auction items that were donated sold well, so that was good.

“The highlight was probably a jar of yo-yos making $50 – that was a bit of a bonus.

“A lot of generous people attended.

“We got an anonymous donation at the end which helped break the record.”

This year’s concert raised $8900, which broke the record set last year of $8550.

Mr Boyd said he wasn’t expecting to break a record this year with numbers low, but he was “very happy” with the result.

He said the crowd enjoyed the day out at the lake, with sunshine greeting attendees for the day.

“Everyone was very happy with the artists – everyone was happy with Cameron Mason the new artist,” he said.

“Everyone was happy with the musical program.

“We didn’t have a dance floor, but there were still people dancing and people generally enjoyed themselves.

“Thank you to everyone who donated – who donated raffle prizes and auction items.

“Thank you for your support on the day.
