Held at the Cobden Recreation Reserve on Tuesday, organisers were pleased to see so many students taking part – many dressed in house colours – along with several families trackside to show their support.

Once points were tallied, Glenfyne Gold was announced shield winner for 2024 – for the fourth consecutive year.

Glenfyne Gold finished on 687.47, followed by Tandarook Red 504.21 and Shenfield Blue 498.32.

Five records were broken throughout the day:

Rhys Sargood broke two long-standing records (held since 1998) in the under 14 boys high jump and long jump events.

Jayden Gass broke a record in the under 18-20 boys high jump, previously held by Gary Rohan since 2009.

Harry Roberts broke the under 13 boys’ long jump record (set last year by Rhys Sargood).

Taliyah Bishop broke the under 15 girls’ 800m event which had been held for 10 years.

Well done to all students who braved the heat and gave their all.

Age group champions were:

Under 18-20 years – Caitlyn Sargood and Jayden Gass.

Under 17 – Tabitha Perriss and Kayden Daffy.

Under 16 – Zoe Buck and Zac Stevens.

Under 15 – Olivia Benson and Felix Nguena Nguena.

Under 14 – Alanna Warden and Rhys Sargood.

Under 13 – Chloe Marquez and Harry Roberts.
