Reid wins Terang championship
PAT Reid has taken out the men’s championship at the Terang Bowling Club.
Reid took the title after defeating new club member Mark Moulden 25-15.
This is his third win, having previously taken out the event in the 1990-91 and 2008-09 seasons.
Keeping it in the family, the men’s B grade championship was won by Pat’s nephew Aaron Tebble, a first year bowler who did well to defeat the more seasoned Tony Malady 25-17.
The women’s champion was Rachel Wass, also a previous winner, her first win being in the 2021-22 season.
Her win was a closely fought one, with opponent Jenny Fowler putting up a solid fight to go down 23-26.
This match went to 33 ends which was the longest match of the day.
In the women’s B grade, Maureen Kenna and Dawn Hilton had an even contest until 11-all when Maureen drew ahead to take the title with a 25-13 win.
Midweek pennant has resumed.
In division one, Terang Blue 30 lost to City Diamonds 110.
G. Downie lost to B. Sheehan 16-32, P. Reid lost to G. Ritchie 9-30 and P. Templeton lost to L. Johnson 5-48.
In division three, Terang Red 32 lost to City Opals 57.
D. Meade lost to J. Smith 22-24, J. Whitehead lost to F. Chatfield 10-33.
In division four, Terang White 50 defeated City Onyx 24.
