Renovations set to begin for May Noonan
THE May Noonan Centre by Lyndoch Living has begun building works this week following a year of COVID-19 restrictions.

THE May Noonan Centre by Lyndoch Living has begun building works this week following a year of COVID-19 restrictions.
The first area for completion will be the communal areas, which were due to start over a year ago. However, COVID-19 meant the works had to be put on hold.
Lyndoch Living chief executive officer Doreen Power said the upgrades would help residents and their families connect.
“The upgrades to the dining and lounge areas will enable residents and their families to host private celebrations and catch-ups in a homely environment,” she said.
“With the introduction of a private dining area, families can come together and enjoy a home-cooked meal with their loved ones, as they would at home.”
Ms Power said comfort, dignity, and care were essential factors in planning every element of the refurbishment.
The design uses specific materials to reduce noise by improving the acoustics, flooring for easy mobility access, natural and ambient lighting, and clarifying the lounge, dining, and library zones, all topped off with new furniture.
Lyndoch Living has aimed for minimal disruption during the eight week period the upgrades are expected to be completed during. Temporary safe communal and private areas for residents and families will be set up to ensure they remain socially connected.
“The design creates spaces where residents can relax for as long as they like with each other or their friends and family,” Ms Power said.
“We care for and are privileged to work in an environment where we can create value through strong community connections.
“This refurbishment enables our residents to enjoy a dignified, engaging, fulfilling and rewarding lifestyle.”
In an added boost for the community, Lyndoch Living has ensured all goods and trades, where possible, are locally sourced from within the region.
