Ripple Grant now open for applications

WANNON Water’s annual Ripple Effect grants program supports organisations who are doing their bit for the community.

By wd-news

Community partnerships and engagement advisor Naomi Turner said the program had funded more than 100 diverse projects over the past seven years.

“They include mentoring programs, the purchase of critical equipment, safety improvements for community groups, environmental projects, and installing water supplies in remote international villages,” she said.

“The program is now open for applications. If you’re part of a local group - or know someone who is - and have a project you need help with, consider applying.”

The Ripple Effect grants are available in three streams:

  • Community grants of up to $5000 are available for projects being delivered in the Wannon Water service region;

  • International aid grants of up to $4000 are available for projects being delivered overseas; and

  • Local schools can also apply for up to $1000 towards school-based projects.

Successful projects in the Corangamite region in the past have included:

  • The South Western Model Engineers and Cobden Miniature Railway - $3000 for a safe covered waiting area, fencing and bench seating;

  • The Terang and District Netball Association - $1270 for updated netball equipment;

  • Cobden Technical School - $1000 for a mental health and wellbeing day;

  • Crayfest Port Campbell - $3000 for equipment hire costs;

  • Timboon Men’s Shed - $5000 for a dust extraction system; and

  • Camperdown and District Community House - $5000 for emergency food relief.

Applications close on Friday, May 3. Anyone interested can go to wannonwater.com.au for further details.
