Road works near completion
WORKS on upgrades to the Lavers Hill-Cobden road are nearing completion.

WORKS on upgrades to the Lavers Hill-Cobden road are nearing completion.
Department of Transport regional director (Barwon south west) Michael Tudball said the final stage of sealing the road will be completed after a short pause for the Easter period.
“Our major rehabilitation of Lavers Hill-Cobden Road is progressing well - we’ve completed stage one of works including two kilometres of the road being rebuilt since January,” he said.
“We’ve already sealed 500 metres as part of our second stage of work to improve the surface of the key freight and tourist inland route.”
Following sealing work, contractors will then complete linemarking and barrier installation with all work expected to be completed in May, weather permitting.
The works will see 3.7 kilometres of the road rebuilt.
The Victorian Government has invested $3.9 million into improving the road as part of its $115 million Inland Route Program.
