MORTLAKE’S Todd Robertson sliced his way through the Allansford-Panmure batting order last weekend.

The in-form Robertson finished the day with the impressive bowling figures of 3/5 off six, helping the Cats on their way to a seven-wicket victory.

Now sitting comfortably in third position on the Warrnambool and District ladder, the Cats again showed their depth in front of a home crowd at Farran Oval, defeating the fourth-placed Gators who were restricted to a run tally of just 74.

Robertson was well supported by fellow bowlers Lachlan Wareham 2/22 off nine and coach Todd Lamont 3/24 off nine.

The Cats’ batsman led from the front, with Clinton Baker 35 not out and Jack Lehmann unbeaten on 19, which saw the Cats finish the day on 3/75.

With just three rounds remaining of the Warrnambool and District home and away season, the Cats are sitting comfortable in third position in first season in the league.

Mortlake’s division two side were not so fortunate on the weekend, losing to Merrivale by seven wickets – 9/152 to 3/155.

Corey Rounds was the best with the bat contributing 39 runs while Ben Howarth added an unbeaten 34 and took 1/25 off six.

Mortlake’s third-placed division four side came home victorious, defeating North Warrnambool Eels 2/75 to 72.
