Rotary Club sponsors young resident
MEMBERS of the Cobden Rotary Club enjoyed the opportunity to hear from a young agricultural enthusiast who the club recently sponsored with a scholarship.
Supporting youth: Cobden Technical School’s Alan Warden received support from the Rotary Club of Cobden to attend a program called ‘Defy the Drift’.
Cobden Rotary recently sponsored Alan Warden, a year 10 at Cobden Tech, to go to a project called ‘Defy the Drift’ at Longerenong College in the Horsham area.
The program promotes agriculture and agronomy as alternatives for students instead of heading off to the big smoke.
“Alan spoke passionately at Rotary about his time at the course, and is now determined to be part of some form of agricultural pathway,” Cobden Rotary Club member Gary Kimber said.
