Rotary donates for STEM students

THE Rotary Club of Cobden have put $2000 towards a science and engineering competition for students in the wider Warrnambool area.

Member Gary Kimber said they were made aware of the program after Brooke McLeod from Warrnambool Rotary Club came to one of their meetings and gave a presentation on the benefits of the competition.

“Cobden Rotary were very thrilled with their program,” he said.

“Ms McLeod outlined her passion with the science and engineering competition for both primary and secondary schools.

“On August 11 and 12 the students are matched to take on activities within the science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) areas.

“Ms McLeod was hoping for sponsors and volunteers to assist the days.

“This is a fantastic program for students and Cobden Rotary proudly donated $2000 in support.”
