COBDEN Rotary and Friends of Rotary - the Cobden Quota group members, recently got together to celebrate the completion of a special project.

The celebration was to mark the completion of works at the Cobden Connection Rotunda which was a major project of the two groups in 1988.

Rotary club member Gary Kimber said the Cobden Connection was a global project involving the five Cobdens of the world - Australia, New Zealand, Canada (Ontario) and USA (Illinois and Minnesota)

providing opportunities to experience the various cultures of each.

“Visits were made back and forth across the globe for many years and lifelong friendships were made,” he said.

Mr Kimber said the Rotunda has had a total revamp and was now in pristine condition.

“It has a picnic table for visitors and many information boards outlining the whole Cobden Connection experience,” he said.

“Locals and visitors are encouraged to stop at the Rotunda and see what we as a community did and have now redone.”
