Round six of indoor bowls
HEYTESBURY Indoor Bias Bowls action continued last week, with round six of pennant.
In division one there were some solid wins.
Laang-Ecklin (Pam Wines (s), Rita Mungean, Max Wines and Kathryn Wines) def. Mepunga 1 (Barb Draffen (s), Helen Harney, Sally Madden and Yvonne Lenehan) 28-8.
Glenormiston 1 (Allen Armistead (s), Scott Pierce, Deb Noonan and Danielle Gilchrist) def. Mepunga 2 (George Draffen (s), Frank Harney, Graeme Ellis and Karl Keegan) 24-12.
Cobden 1 (David Childs (s), Fred Salmon, Claire Reynolds and Doreen Coverdale) def. Camperdown 1 (Les Pearson (s), Ron Simcox, Sophie Pearson and Jason Pearson) 33-13.
Mepunga 3 (Peter Neal (s), Doug Byron, Les Lenehan and Don McLeod) drew with Timboon Lawn (Jason Mungean (s), Brett Mungean, Val Blake and Pam Dwyer) 15 all.
The top four this week in division one are Cobden 1 (undefeated), Laang-Ecklin, Mepunga 2 and Timboon Lawn.
In division two/three:
Scotts Creek 2 (Neville Robb (s), Trevor Hobbs, Helen Hobbs and Marlene Page) def. Glenormiston 2 (Deb Cheslett (s), Ron Heard, Justin Rasmussen and Danielle Gilchrist) 19-11.
Mepunga 4 (Ian Heatly (s) Clarrie Matthew, Bev Byron and James Byron) def. Glenormiston 3 (Max Heard (s), Noel Uebergang, Jim Wallace and Gavin Buck) 18-15.
Cobden 2 (Joyce Roberts (s), Jill Lynch, Kevin Rundle and Pam Savage) def. Camperdown 2 (Graeme Chamberlain (s), Norma Weller, Gordon Weller and Judy Borthwick) 22-21.
Scotts Creek 2 (Allan Beasy (s), Louise Blair, Marion Frencham and Les Neale) def. Peterborough (Charles Martin (s), Angela Payne, Ross Wooley and Graeme Murfett) 26-11.
The top four this week in division two/three are Glenormiston 2, Scotts Creek 2, Glenormiston 3 and Scotts Creek 1.
This Kings Birthday weekend, a major indoor bowls championship will be played at Ballarat.
The Ballarat Intergroup Championships is where associations play against each other and battle for bragging rights.
