Round three of indoor bowls
ROUND three of pennant kicked off last Wednesday for the Heytesbury and Indoor Bias Bowls Association competition.
In division one, Mepunga 1 (Barb Draffen (s), Helen Harney, Sally Madden and Don McLeod) lost to Timboon Lawn (Jason Mungean (s), Noah Mungean, Tyler Mungean and Jean Clover) 14-29.
Cobden 1 (David Childs (s), Fred Salmon, Claire Reynolds and Doreen Coverdale) def. Nonconformist 1 (Allen Armistead (s), Bec Heard, Deb Noonan and Scott Pierce) 16-10.
Mepunga 3 (Peter Neal (s), Doug Byron, Gerald Madden and Rob McCrabb) lost to Mepunga 2 (George Draffen (s), Frank Harney, Gayle MacPherson and Karl Keegan) 12-20.
Laang-Ecklin (Pam Wines(s), Rita Mungean, Ken Buck and Allen Cook) def. Camperdown 1 (Les Pearson (s), Ron Simcox, Sophie Pearson and Roelie Maslin) 16-14.
The top four this week in division one: Cobden 1 (undefeated), Mepunga 2 (undefeated), Laang-Ecklin and Timboon Lawn.
In division two/three, Glenormiston 2 (Deb Cheslett (s), Ron Heard, Maureen Bond and Rita Pasque) def. Peterborough (Charles Martin (s), Ross Wooley, Graeme Murfett and Mercedes Wooley) 36-13.
Cobden 2 (Joyce Roberts (s), Jill Lynch, Bill Johnson and Pam Savage) def. Mepunga 4 (Ian Heatly (s), Clarrie Matthew, Bev Byron and John Farrer) 22-21.
Scotts Creek 1 (Allan Beasy (s), Marion Frencham, Joyce Lindquist and Audrey Armistead) def. Glenormiston 3 (Max Heard (s), Noel Uebergang, Justin Rasmussen and Gavin Buck) 19-18.
Scotts Creek 2 (Neville Robb (s), Trevor Hobbs, Helen Hobbs and Marlene Page) def. Camperdown 2 (Elizabeth Riches (s), Graeme Chamberlain, Jason Pearson and Judy Borthwick) 20-19.
The top four this week in division two/three: Glenormiston 2 (undefeated), Glenormiston 3, Scotts Creek 1 and Scotts Creek 2.
This Sunday Heytesbury will host the South West Challenge at Simpson Hall.
Heytesbury won it two years ago and are looking to repeat that again.

A reminder that entries closed for the South West Challenge and Ballarat Intergroup Championships last Sunday, May 10.
A reminder the VIBBA men’s and women’s pairs will be held on Saturday, May 23 at the Warrnambool Arc Stadium – 8.45am roll-up for 9am start.
Please note that Heytesbury is on duty for set-up and pack down.
The VIBBA men’s and women’s fours will be on Sunday, May 24 at Warrnambool Arc Stadium – 8.45am roll-up for 9am start.
Entries will close for VIBBA mixed pairs and fours, men’s and women’s triples, as well as state team applications on Friday, May 29.
