COBDEN’S division one cricketers notched up their first win of the season, taking the points from Woorndoo.

The Knights won the toss and elected to bat on the Tigers’ ground last Saturday, notching up 8/291 thanks to a handy knock of 77 from opener Matthew Boyle and an unbeaten 63 from Campbell Walsh.

The pair were also well supported on the scoreboard by Matthew Harkin 26 not out, Sam Melican with 44, Kaplan McCann (retired) 26 and Matthew Kemper who added a handy 20 in the lower order.

The Knights were just as handy in the field, restricting Woorndoo to 5/126 off its 50 overs.

Best of the bowlers for the victors were Tom Mahony 2/13 off 10 overs and Cooper Beard 2/13 off six.
