Runners tackle marathon festival
CAMPERDOWN’S Lakes and Craters Runners were among the thousands who took on the 2025 Nike Melbourne Marathon Festival last weekend.

The marathon festival, which kicked off from the start line on Batman Avenue early on Sunday morning, once again attracted runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.
The festival offered participants the chance to challenge themselves at either the full marathon distance, half marathon, 10 kilometres, five kilometres or a 2.5 kilometre walk – with all competitors crossing the finish line on the MCG.
Runners from the Camperdown group competed in various races, all recording strong results.
Marathon – Luke Woodmason 3:06:02, Met Vincent 3:26:32, Paul Kingston 3:51:51.
Half marathon – Charlene Elsum 1:50:19, Kim Helmore (first in her age group) 1:50:59, Davina Pickles 1:53:33, Rosie Pickles 1:53:33, Michael Kavenagh 1:56:49, Paula Duynhoven 1:56:54, Colin Elsum 1:58:59, Gary O’Neil 1:59:05, Ellie Fryers 2:22:16, Joseph Kingston 2:23:06, Luke O’Neil 2:23:06 and Jeremy Lucas 2:23:09.
