Santa in the Street back in Timboon
KIDS will have the opportunity to meet Santa in Timboon next week, followed by December’s edition of the Timboon monthly markets.

Santa in the Street is back for another year next Friday, December 10, with Santa and Mrs Claus coming into Timboon from 5.30-6pm.
Organised by Timboon Action, secretary Leeanne Whitehead said the event, open from 4-6pm, offered entertainment for all leading into the holiday season.
“Everything is free to the children – Timboon Action are paying for everything,” she said.
“There will be fairy floss, snow cones, face painting, slime trays – various activities for the kids.
“We’ve got some miniature goats coming as well and Timboon Action will be cooking a sausage sizzle.
“The Provedore will be open for an extra couple of hours for anyone wanting coffee.”
Timboon Action president Enid O’Connor said the event was looking to be a great success based on previous years.
“We encourage the school and particularly the primary and the kindergarten to come and sing a couple of songs,” she said.
“Going on past years it proves to be very successful.
“It’s such a great area here, it’s safe and contained, we’re very lucky and we get the support from Little Bit of Sweet.
“They have a lovely time.”
Mrs O’Connor said decorations will soon be going up in the Timboon main street thanks to support from the Timboon Men’s Shed.
“With the help of Timboon Men’s Shed, they have created for us now 40 Christmas trees – 20 last year and 20 this year,” she said.
“We’re going to go around and put trees and lights out soon.
“We have asked for funding from Bunnings for lights, but that hasn’t come through yet.
“We’ve had a lot of fun putting the trees together and painting them.”
Following Santa in the Street will be the monthly Timboon market on Sunday, December 14, from 10am-2pm, providing an opportunity to get some Christmas shopping done and support local businesses.
“It’s proving to be quite a busy one, obviously it is Christmas so there will be lots of stallholders – we’ll probably be tipping nearly 50 stallholders,” market coordinator Kylie Oates said.
“We encourage everyone to come along and share in the joy of Christmas.”
