Scanlon dominates

LOCAL golfer Sharee Scanlon has dominated on the Terang course recently, winning all three rounds of the club’s women’s championships.

Last Saturday was the final round of the championships and Scanlon finished on 256 gross to take A grade from runner-up Marion Venn on 263.

B grade was won by Janet Saunders 319 from runner-up Linda Kenna on 327.

Winnner Of the Betty Day 54 Handicap was Marion Venn 224 from Linda Kenna Nett 225.

Results from the second round of the championships were as follows:

A grade – Sharee Scanlon 82-86-168, Marion Venn 88-88-176, Cate Glennon 91-94-185 and Jo Arundell 102-100-202.

B grade - Karen Mather 107-105-212, Janet Saunders 109-104-213, Linda Kenna 111-104-215, Maureen Bond 112-104-216 and Elaine Hrabar 115-102-217.

Last Thursday’s A grade winner was Jo Arundell 100-24-74 on a countback from Marion Venn and Sharee Scanlon.

Runner-up was Marion Venn 88-12-76 on a countback from Sharee Scanlon.

B grade was won by Linda Kenna 104-34-70 from Elaine Hrabar 102-28-74.

Balls down the line - Janet Saunders nett 75, Sharee Scanlon 76 and Maureen Bond 76.

Nearest the pins: 3rd Judy Carmody, 11th Cate Glennen and 18th from off the green Janet Saunders.

Michelle Bourke won the nine-hole competition with nett 44.

Thursday’s afternoon competition winner was Billy Wood on 37 points from Nick Marshall on 30.
