Schools announce 2024 Duxes

WITH their final year of their 13-year schooling journey behind them, many Year 12 students have been eagerly awaiting their results last week.

Students who completed their Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) and their Vocational Major (VM) were able to check their results when they went live last Thursday.

At Camperdown College, students Elyse Cross (VCE) and Riley Stephenson (VM) were announced as duxes for 2024.

Principal Xavier Davis said the school was proud of all students who undertook VCE and VCE VM this year, including Elyse and Riley.

“Both students’ dedication to their studies has been well rewarded,” he said.

“This achievement not only reflects their academic abilities but also highlights the commitment to excellence fostered at Camperdown College.

“Elyse has successfully balanced her study commitments with fantastic results across all of her studies - meanwhile, Riley has been a leading presence around the college in their role as school captain.

“Congratulations to Elyse, Riley, and all the Year 12 students for their remarkable achievements and accomplishments.

“The college is extremely happy with our results - achieving above the targets set at the start of the year.”

Charlotte Bennett was Dux of Mercy Regional College (MRC) in 2024 for VCE.

Having completed studies in english, art: creative practice, business management, literature, history and visual communication and design, Charlotte is pleased to be Dux of the MRC in 2024.

“I would like to thank all the staff and everyone who helped me,” she said.

“I couldn’t have achieved it without everyone’s support.”

Charlotte is hoping to be accepted to Swinburne to a double degree in Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Media Communications.

VCE-VM students Sienna Chivell and Ellie Heath achieved Excellence Awards in recognition of their outstanding achievements in their VCE-VM studies.

Principal Sharon Gillett said she was iproud of the efforts of all students.

“I congratulate all of our students for showing great work ethic and commitment to their studies,” she said.

“It is fantastic to see such great results.

“I congratulate Charlotte on achieving Dux of the College and Sienna and Ellie for their VCE-VM excellence awards.

“We wish our young people the very best for a bright future ahead”

Derrinallum P-12 College did not name a Dux this year.
