At Derrinallum P-12 College, Bray Srdoc and Scarlett Wilkins were announced as junior and senior school captains respectively.
Derrinallum P-12 College principal Caitlyn Fitzgerald said she was excited for a good year with their new student leaders.
“We’re very excited about it because Scarlett has been on school council for the last 12 months and will hold the student position again this year,” she said.
“She’s been doing and exceptional job of relaying needs and want of the students to school council, so I think she’s going to bring that talent with her as a school captain.
“Bray has stepped up and stepped out of his comfort zone and taken on a job that he has definitely got the skills for.
“He’s really looking forward to learning and Scarlett will be the perfect support person as a senior school captain to support him on his learning journey to be a wonderful leader of our primary school.”
Ms Fitzgerald said there will be a lot of events for the new student leaders to participate in within a leadership capacity.
“I think we have two students who are going to do an exceptional job leading our school through what is planned to be a really exciting year,” she said.
“Both are really keen to bring in and produce lots of exciting opportunities for the kids and to make sure the kids’ voices are really well-heard and respected.”
