Schools welcome this year's leadership

STUDENTS from across the region have taken on leadership responsibility among their peers, with school captains now named for the year.

St Thomas’ Primary School welcomed Zac Clarke and Matilda Conheady as its school captains.

Hampden P-12 junior campus announced its junior captains are Mackenzie Gurry, Izayah Dixon, Zoe Meade and Oscar McLeod.

St Colman’s Primary School named Imogen Barr and Charlotte Allen as their school leaders, who said they were excited for a busy year ahead.

“Being this year’s school leaders, we are keen to make the school the best that it can be, allowing students to feel included and special,” they said.

“We also like to strongly motivate and encourage the students in every way, shape and form.

“Our school leadership works with the school’s SRC representative team to always make sure we have something to look forward to and intrigue us while we learn and have fun.

“We also work together fundraising for the wider community organisations.

“This year we are hopeful to raise money for cancer research, The Smith Family and The Royal Children’s Hospital.”

Ryan McKenzie and Naida Smith were named student leaders at Noorat Primary School.

Terang College named Jess Bell and Lucy Board its school captains, while Aenid Wood and Harley Quick were named junior captains.

Mercy Regional College (O’Keeffe campus) introduced junior school captains Halle Barake and Daisy Courtney.

In addition, Meg Nolan was named junior FIRE carrier, Malka Salas is junior social justice leader Malka Salas and Bella Scanlon and Madi Lucas will share the responsibility of junior arts and environment leaders.

And at Mortlake College, Molly Goddard and Jack Fowler will serve as 2025 student leaders.
