Season celebrations for female footballers

TERANG Mortlake’s female footballers celebrated their 2026 season with an awards night last week.

Players from the Bloods’ under 18 and open women’s teams gathered at their Terang clubrooms last Friday night for presentations.

In the open women’s side, Rachael O’Keeffe took home the best and fairest award, with Shae De Francesco the runner-up.

The Bloods award was presented to Annalise Abbott while Maddison Wallace and Indi Cameron shared the leading goal kicking awards, both on six goals for the season.

In the under 18s, Nikaiah Murfett was named the best and fairest player, with the runner-up award going to Lilly Dixon.

Matilda Narik was named best first year player while Kara Bell took home the Bloods awad.

The leading goal kicker award was a three-way tie between Matilda Narik, Elle Mahony and Chloe Clifford, all on three goals.

The Bloods’ open women’s team finished the home and away season in sixth place with one win and six losses.

The under 18 side finished fifth with three wins and five losses.
