Season ends for women

THE season is over for Mortlake women’s cricket team, finishing with two games on the weekend.

On Friday night, the round 10 match against Hawkesdale (which had been delayed by two weeks) was played at the DC Farran Oval.

Batting first, Mortlake was skittled for a paltry 34, bowled out in just 12.3 overs.

Opener Wynter Bradbury was the only player to make double figures with 14 from 14 balls.

Hawkesdale took 10 overs for the loss of one wicket to pass the score - Annalise Abbott taking the only wicket.

Sunday’s round 12 match was played at Warrnambool’s Wenborn Oval against Nestles.

The home team batted first and posted 2/184 from its 25 overs.

Wynter Bradbury took 1/21 from five overs with the new ball, the other wicket coming from an Amelia Horan run out.

Mortlake replied with 9/66 from its 25 overs to lose by 118 runs.

Bradbury again top scored, this time with 23 from 27 balls.

Ella Jones was the other player to score double figures with 10 from 32 balls.

Mortlake end the 2025/26 season in 11th place on the ladder with a record of one win and eight losses.
