Batting first, the Bulls made 6/268 from their 50 overs on a dry, quick oval.

Skipper Matt Bignell made 57 from 61 balls opening the batting, while Tom Darcy, fresh from his maiden century in division two last week, made his first division one half century with 57 from 56 balls, including six fours and three sixes.

The home team got off to a flyer and looked well in control of the run chase, but regular wickets started to fall with Stephen Hill breaking through twice and bowling tightly, finishing with 2/44 from 10 overs to be the best of the Pomborneit bowlers.

The Bulls’ spin trio of Sendanayake, Bignell and Bandara took six wickets between them but Bookaar ultimately passed the score in the 48th over with two wickets in hand in a great game of division one cricket.

The Bulls lost early wickets in the run chase and limped to 135.

A lower order partnership between Hunter Reynolds (44 from 42 balls with three fours and three sixes) and Donnie McInnes (19 from 32 balls) added a hint of respectability to the score.

In the division three game at MCP Oval, Pomborneit batted first and put up its best score of the season with 3/187 from 40 overs.
