Camperdown Good Friday Appeal coordinator Kellie Kempton said the appeal will set up in the Camperdown Guide Hall at 251 Manifold Street on Friday, April 3.

“This year is 95 years of the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, which is a pretty big one this year,” she said.

“I need collectors to do the town this year – we haven’t been able to cover it for many years as we don’t have enough volunteers on the day.

“A lot of people are getting missed collecting their money.

“I’d love as many people as possible to volunteer to door knock.

“Fire trucks will also be going out, and we’ll have the raffle up the street to raise money.”

Last year saw just over $40,000 donated to the appeal, with the record for Camperdown being $43,036.80.

Ms Kempton said she hoped to break the record this year with physical cash and EFTPOS options available for donations.

Collection tins will be set up in local businesses in the lead-up to Good Friday.
