Senior womens cricket begins
FEMALE cricketers across the south west will make history this week when the inaugural senior women’s competition kicks off.
Round one of South West Cricket Association’s first female competition will begin tonight (Wednesday).
With five teams currently entered, the inaugural season will consist of 10 home and away games thanks to the efforts of female cricket coordinator Craig Hanks and members of the sub committee.
Round one will see Ecklin face Camperdown Lakers at the Ecklin Recreation Reserve from 5pm, while Bookaar and Cobden Knights Blue will meet at the Camperdown College.
Cobden Knights Gold will have the bye round.
Anyone interested in playing in this competition is encouraged to contact their local club or the league.
