‘Shop Local’ campaign a success for C’down

THREE lucky residents have taken away major prizes for shopping locally over the past month, with the Camperdown Business Network’s ‘Shop Local and Win’ promotion ending this week.

The promotion finished officially on Monday, with the final major prize drawn on the day.

Organiser Michelle Elijah congratulated the winners of the three major prizes, as well as all participants who took home minor prizes throughout June.

“Our major prize winner was Cathy Merrett, who won $1000 at IGA and also $400 from Camperdown Quality Meats,” she said.

“Kylie Hillman was our second prize winner, and she has won two tickets to Wicked the Musical in Melbourne and a night’s accommodation.

“Third prize was Heather Gurry, and she has won a night’s accommodation at The Mill and a $100 voucher to go out for tea at the Hampden.

“Thanks to everyone who has participated, and thanks to all our 32 businesses for being involved.”

Ms Elijah said she was “stoked” about the support for the campaign, with all minor prizes and some major prizes donated by participating businesses.

“I know it’s been really awesome for the town and we’ve got so many entries,” she said.

“I was just pretty stoked about the whole thing.

“I’m sure it’ll get bigger and better, and I’m sure that we can have more businesses involved.

“Looking forward to making something like this work again.”
