Siblings shine in pool

TERANG College siblings Sophie and Charlie Simpson have both qualified to compete at the Greater Western Region swimming championships in Horsham.

To qualify for GWR students need a top six finish at the Combined Primary Division Championships which were held in Warrnambool.

Sophie (year 4) finished third in the 10 year-old girls 50m breastroke, while Charlie (year 6) finished fourth in the 12/13 year-old boys 50m butterfly.

The Horsham swim meet was held yesterday (Wednesday).

This was the first time the pair had competed at regional level, taking on swimmers from eight divisions across the region.

Their results will be published in next week’s edition.
