DO you know your fire risk?
Simpson Country Fire Authority (CFA) brigade are hosting a fire planning workshop on Sunday, October 22.
The Simpson brigade, along with CFA South West are inviting residents to attend the discussion to answer questions about how to be best prepared this fire season.
Participants will:
Get a refresh of fire safety essentials;
Gain an increased understanding of their local fire risk, as well as a basic understanding of fire behaviour relevant to their environment;
Begin to identify their personal limitations and barriers to bushfire preparedness;
An understanding of what a plan is and what it should contain;
Reassess intentions and decisions as well as start a written plan;
Gain an awareness of available resources and tools to further assist bushfire preparedness; and
Increase skills and knowledge to develop a plan.
The session will be held between 10.30am to 1.30pm at the Simpson Fire Station at 2 Gondain Street.
