Singers wanted for youth choir at Carols
CAMPERDOWN Theatre Company has put a call out for young singers to form a youth choir for this year’s Carols by Candlelight event in December.
Alongside the opportunity to join the main choir, which is open to young people in Grade Six and above, the youth choir will perform a feature piece consisting of junior performers up to 18-years-old.
Junior performers have the option to either just participate in the youth choir number or participate in both the youth choir and the main choir.
Choirmaster Toby McKenzie said he was looking forward to featuring young performers on the night.
“Carols is always such a fantastic night and we have a fun and energetic song lined up for the youth choir,” he said.
“We hope to have lots of enthusiastic singers on board and anyone who is interested is encouraged to give it a go.
“Music folders and online resources are supplied, and no prior experience is necessary.”
There will be two Sunday rehearsals on November 9 and November 23 from 2-3pm for the Youth Choir, as well as Friday, December 5 with the band and Thursday, December 11 at 7pm for a full run-through.
More details, including extra rehearsal details for the main choir, can be found at www.camperdowntheatrecompany.com.au/current-show.
Anyone interested in joining the youth choir or the main choir is encouraged to contact Mr McKenzie on 0409 617 627 or publicityctc@gmail.com by Wednesday, November 5.
Cost to be involved in the choir is only a $5 performance day membership to the Camperdown Theatre Company.
Camperdown Carols by Candlelight is a joint venture of the Camperdown Theatre Company and the Lakes and Craters Band.
The free family event is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 7pm at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown.
