TALENTED netballers Jaime, Tasha and Elise Killen will long remember last Saturday’s home game against Hawkesdale Macarthur.

In what may possibly have been a first for Woorndoo Mortlake Football Netball Club, the Hexham sisters featured in the starting seven for the Tigers’ A grade side.

Playing at Woorndoo against the Eagles, the trio said they were thrilled to line-up in the same team for the first time.

Having played much of their junior netball at Woorndoo Mortlake, Tasha and Jaime enjoyed a stint in the Hampden League before returning to their beloved Tigers where they are now relishing their opportunities in the senior competition.

A grade co-coach Kate Jubb said the trio were a welcome addition to what has become a “very young team.”

“Jaime started in the centre, Tasha at wing defence and Elise at goal attack so they had all thirds covered,” A grade co-coach Kate Jubb said.

“We have a very young side but they are really starting to gel well and I couldn’t be prouder.”

Jubb said Saturday’s game was quite a physical one but all players maintained pressure and composure.

“Sarah Cameron was away and we missed her in the goal circle so it will be good to get her back on the court again."

“We managed to stay within four or five goals throughout the game but lost by 11 goals, 47-36."

“Nevertheless I’m proud of them all. They showed composure and the talk on the court was positive.”

B grade also endured a physical and close game but finished one goal up on the final siren, winning 22-21.

The Tigers’ C grade side continued its run of close results, defeating Hawkesdale Macarthur 25-23.

In junior results, the 17 and under team enjoyed a comfortable 39-6 victory while the 15 and unders lost 35-13 and the 13 and under side had a close battle but went down by one goal, 11-10.
