Six successful shows, one crazy day
CAMPERDOWN Theatre Company (CTC) experienced quite a ‘freaky’ time with their recent successful ‘Freaky Friday’ production
Members of the cast, band and crew were pleased with the turnout for the six performances, with 1062 tickets sold.
Director Jen Rowan said she was very thankful for the experience.
“Directing ‘Freaky Friday’ was an amazing journey of creativity,” she said.
“The talented cast, band, and crew all did an amazing job bringing the magic of this show to life.
“I'm so thankful for our audience members who filled the theatre night after night to support our show.”
CTC president Toby McKenzie acknowledged the tremendous amount of work which had gone into the production.
“It was a huge collaborative effort and we are grateful to everyone who gave their time, talent and energy to the show,” he said.
“Our production team, cast, band and crew are a fantastic bunch.
“I particularly thank our sponsors for supporting our company, many of whom have supported us for many years.”
CTC also made history with the presentation of its own ‘Tony Award’ before the final show, which was presented to inaugural winner Harrison Smith.
Mr McKenzie said the award was named after CTC life member Tony Dupleix and is voted on by the CTC committee.
“The award is named in recognition of life member Tony Dupleix and his extraordinary contribution to CRS (Camperdown Repertory Society)/CTC over several decades,” he said.
“I offer my sincerest thanks to Tony for his outstanding efforts and I look forward to celebrating excellence in our company with this award for years to come.
“Harrison has been involved in CTC productions since 2014 and has helped transform the technical side of our shows, using his impressive lighting and sound skills to enhance the quality of performances.”
Upon receiving the award, Mr Smith thanked the company for the honour.
“It is great to be first on the board, and particularly under the name of someone as great as Tony,” he said.
