Coming together: Families from across the shire enjoyed the opportunity to connect thanks to last Friday’s Twilight Family Fiesta.

Sixty babies, children and adults enjoyed the Twilight Family Fiesta at Camperdown Botanic Gardens, where attendees rolled out picnic rugs for an evening of socialising and fun.

Corangamite Shire Council Dads Matter program facilitator Tracey Savage said the event aimed to forge new connections among the shire’s young families.

“One parent said to me there was such a good vibe,” she said.

“A family new to the shire said they loved this area and asked how they could connect to other events.

“The balloon twisting kept many little ones entertained and families relaxed and chatted on the benches or spread out on their picnic rugs.”

Camperdown Lions Club cooked a barbecue and Derrinallum artist Noah Sycopolis provided musical entertainment.

Ms Savage said uncertain weather kept a few registered families away but a little smattering of rain didn’t interrupt the fun.

Shire dads are invited to join the Dads Matter Corangamite Facebook group to stay informed of future events.
