THE Matthew Cumani-trained Sous Les Nuages took this year’s Bet365 Mortlake Cup by a nose in front of 1700 eager racegoers.

Samedi and Yellowbrick Road rounded out the top three in a tight race but Sous Les Nuages, ridden by Neil Farley, would not be denied.

In other results the Andrew Bobbin-trained Dirt On Harry claimed the 2000m Valton Feeding Solutions.

Xcessive Gamble won the 1100m Moyne Shire and Albanian Wrestler took the 1100m Westvic Tyres Maiden Plate.

Mikki Magic was victorious in the 1300m Banquet Angus while Albanian Bay got home in the 1300m Angers Steel Maiden Plate.

Fairytale Bliss grabbed the 1300m Mortlake Pre-Mix Concrete Maiden Plate and Desert Anthem earned first in the 1600m Mac’s Hotel Mortlake Maiden Plate.

Mortlake Racing Club was thrilled with the quality of the track on the day, leading to tightly-contested races to the delight of racegoers.

“The track raced very well, which was pretty evident by horses winning from anywhere on the track,” manager Karen Van Kempen said.

“Speaking to all the professional services there on the day we heard how complimentary they were of the club, how the day unfolded and how good the facilities are.”
