Special guests at St Pats
THE Foundation children from St. Patrick’s School shared a delightful morning with their grandparents and special friends last Friday to commemorate the Feast Day of St Joachim and St. Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.

THE Foundation children from St. Patrick’s School shared a delightful morning with their grandparents and special friends last Friday to commemorate the Feast Day of St Joachim and St. Anne, the grandparents of Jesus.
It began with Mass at St. Patrick’s Church where the Preps lead the singing and Fr. Neville reflected on the special place grandparents hold in everyone’s hearts.
A highlight of the Mass was a special photo presentation featuring the children with their grandparents and even great-grandparents
Back at school, the children had the opportunity to read to their grandparents before making family trees with the special names the children have for their grandparents written onto hearts which were attached to the trees.
A morning tea followed with much chatter between grandparents and children and the renewal of many old acquaintances, especially among former students of St. Patrick’s.
Foundation Team Leader Pru Darcy said it was “lovely to welcome grandparents and special friends into the school, and for the children to have the opportunity to build further connections between school and home.”
