THE inaugural inductees of the Mercy Regional College ‘Spirit of Mercy’ Awards have been announced ahead of the 50th Jubilee Celebrations later this month.

Former students Jocelyn Bignold OAM, Rose Henry, Josh Hose OAM, Greg O’Shea, Mark O’Shea and professor Michael Ryan will all be inducted into the Spirit of Mercy Award, with Ella Gleeson inducted into the Young Spirit of Mercy Award.

Principal Sharon Gillett acknowledged the “wonderful” work and service of the inductees.

“All of our inductees into the Spirit of Mercy Awards have exemplified Mercy Regional College values and provided inspiring examples of achievement to current and future Mercy Regional College students,” she said.

“We sincerely congratulate them and look forward to sharing more about their work at our Jubilee Dinner.”

The 50-year history of Mercy Regional College (formerly Catholic Regional College) will be celebrated on Saturday, November 25, with a day filled with activities at the McAuley Campus in Camperdown and a Jubilee Dinner in the evening at the Reid Stockfeeds Function Centre.

“There are two parts to the day, the free Open Day, and the ticketed Jubilee Dinner that evening,” Ms Gillett said.

“The Open Day will include displays, food trucks, music and school tours, with a formal assembly and tree planting at 1pm.

“The Jubilee Dinner will feature our Spirit of Mercy Award winners, as well as the annual Car Raffle Draw, with a two-course meal and live music.

“We cordially invite everyone to come and help us celebrate.”

The dinner tickets are $65 per person, or $520 for a table of 8, with bookings closing on Tuesday, November 21.

Tickets are available from www.trybooking.com/CHKBB.

RSVP for the free day activities is encouraged at the same link for catering purposes.
