The real estate company has generously donated $1000 to the umpire association for the purchase of new tops for the upcoming season.
“We are very grateful to have secured this major sponsorship from Ray White Real Estate,” SWC umpires association president Don Pyke said.
“This donation will help subsidise the cost of new uniforms for our growing team of umpires.”
Ray White representative Alistair Tune (who also played cricket in his earlier days) said he was proud to be able to support south west umpires for season 2022-23.
“Having played some cricket with Pomborneit and also with Camperdown I’m aware of the value of sport in our local communities and of the importance of umpires to the game,” Alistair said.
Having welcomed five new umpires for this season, the association is still on the search for more.
“There is always room for people with a love for the game to give back; and as an added bonus you get paid to watch local cricket from a great vantage point,” Pyke said.
