Spooky fun for Halloween across the district this year

SPOOKY ghouls, witches and more were spotted across the district last Thursday for its annual Halloween celebrations.

The Cobden Scouts Halloween Trail was the place to be for local Trick or Treaters, with more than 370 people registered this year.

The trail had 19 stops registered for youngsters enjoying the Halloween fun.

Event organiser Mandy Reid said there were “was lots of happy children” in Cobden following the event.

“It was really, really good,” she said.

“It was our biggest year yet.

“It was great to have a headless horseman riding around this year and to have the Cobden Pioneer Park on board.”

The Simpson Halloween Trail also saw youngsters getting into the Halloween spirit.

Simpson and District Community Centre co-ordinator Debra Smith was pleased with how the event went this year.

“We had a great night, with 83 kids and 41 families,” she said.

“There were lots of dads involved this year and the whole family dressing up.

“Amber Hendriksen was on hand for face painting and we had businesses, individuals and community organisations host stops, the majority of them dressing up as well.”
