Sport and volunteer nominations now open

FEDERAL Member for Wannon Dan Tehan MP is inviting community members to submit nominations for the 2025 Wannon Sport and Volunteer Awards.

Nominations opened recently for residents to name an individual or group who make a big difference to their communities through voluntary service or on the sporting field.

“These awards shine a light on the remarkable contributions of individuals and groups across our region, both on the sporting field and through selfless voluntary service,” Mr Tehan said.

“Recognising these efforts not only honours their achievements and efforts but inspires others to get involved, helping to strengthen our communities.”

The Volunteer Awards honour individuals and groups who dedicate their time, energy and passion to making a real difference – from youth mentors to emergency responders and everyone in between.

Nominations can be made for the Youth Volunteer Award, Emergency Management Award, Group Award, Inspiring Individual Award or Member of Parliament Award.

The Wannon Sport Awards honour individuals and teams who have demonstrated excellence, commitment and achievement in sport at any level.

Nominations are open in Primary School Individual or Team Achievement, Secondary School Individual or Team Achievement, Open Individual or Team Achievement and Member of Parliament Award categories.

Nominations for the awards can be submitted at dantehan.com.au/wannon-sport-and-volunteer-awards.

Nominations close at 5pm on Monday, October 1, with the awards ceremony to take place in Colac on Friday, November 21.
